Fear is the...

Fear is the unexplained Shadow On The Wall.

It's a living thing that you don't understand at all.

It morphs into hideous the longer you stare.

The only thing you know is it shouldn't be there.

You're paralyzed, transfixed and immobilized,

It's laughing at you as you sit there, utterly demoralized.

It destroys your equilibrium, sends you spinning into the dark,

For it's corrosive effects, you're an easy mark.

This is just brilliant, molt. That ever expanding morphing shadow -- definitely seems to be laughing at me sometimes.

I hated these shadows on the wall a couple years ago, but it's funny reading about them and looking back at the memories. Nice story!

Thank you, Dakota, and I think most kids, and a few adults, have felt this way, from time to time!

Excellent poem Mike. Your actually right about not understanding fear. We don't know why it's there but it just is.
