I was sitting the living room listening to Christmas music and reading a book when all of a sudden the fire blazed up. I jumped back for fear of getting burned.

"Change your ways!" said the figure that was slowly coming into view.

"You gotta stop doing things the way you doin'em or ain't nothing gonna go right for you."

"Are you deaf or stupid?"

"Then I ain't gonna repeat myself."

"I don't understand."

"Stupid then I guess. Okay girlie you think just doing all that volunteering and fundraising is gonna get you to heaven?"

"Well you wrong! Remember that it's the thought that counts, and you ain't doing no thinkin' when you serving. You got your mind on your own selfish life."

What are you talking about?"

"You gotta serve from the heart not just get it done."

"I honestly don't know what you're talking about."

"You ain't Sarah?"

"Who's Sarah?"

"Oops! My b. I'll get out of your way." And the women vanished.  I watched the fire as it settled back down and then continued reading.
