Unjustly Accused.

I stand here before you

Unjustly accused

My request for aid

Is unfairly refused.

These lies are malicious,

The guilt and the blame,

You’re trying to bury me

In so much shame.

I’ve always been there,

Have never meant harm,

But it’s all down to me

This disruption of calm.

Whatever I try

It’s just destined to fail,

‘Guilty as charged’

I hear you all wail.

I stand here alone

As I always am,

Discovering how much

Of life’s just a sham.

There’s no one beside me

Well, so much for trust;

Your loyalty’s worthless

It’s just turned to dust.

I let myself wrongly

Believe that you’d care

But when you are needed

You just aren’t there.

So now I’m convicted

I won’t shed no tears,

There’ll be plenty to come

In the next twenty years.
