Love is love.

It cannot be branded

nor bound,

in word form

nor the essence

of understanding –

recorded on a page as

the many foot prints

of a love bird.

It is not

the same

vein for all.

The roots fed from

fertile ground

branch as the

many rivers

of a salty lake,

each passing

over unfamiliar ground

rushing like chariots

caught off guard

leaving those

who long

with an everlasting thirst,

to be quenched

only by the

return…

For the purest of gold

lies guarded

in the belly of

the rockiest mountain –

protected by sheer cliffs

and the simplism

of its hiding.

Buried deep

in the souls of men

and forever to be as it is

in the soul of a woman.

The journey deep –

into the heart –

is not meant for

any unwilling to

lay open the veils

lying closest to the soul

as the heaviest armor.

Handing over my sword,

I offer all

that is my being

to guard steadfast

for all eternity.
