Away From It All

I need some kind of great big hole,

A deep and dangerous pit,

And then I think I’d gladly go

And drop myself in it.

I’d embrace the fate it brought,

I’d not try to survive,

I’d lay there, eyes shut, patiently

And wait for death to thrive.

I’d willingly succumb to it,

A break from all the pain,

An obliterating ending

To all the guilt and blame.

Someone maybe would miss me

But it wouldn’t be for long,

Better off without me

‘Cause I always make things wrong.
