70’s babies who came of age in the 80’s

Hard to believe we are now middle aged ladies

Remembering those Jr. High School days

And our little miss prissy ways

Sneaking on the phone to talk to boys

We were scared as hell to talk to them after the games because our brothers and their friends would always talk noise

Watching the video and singing along to Don’t Be Cruel

Going to the school dances to listening to the Emotions and acting a fool

Arguing over whose man was going to be Ralph or Bobby

Why couldn’t we have done normal things like play Sorry and Monopoly?

Instead we wanted Boone’s Farm

Strawberry Hill never caused us any harm

But MD 20/20 and Thunderbird would have us puking all over the place

And swearing we weren’t hungover, lying to our mama’s face

Such innocent and sweet smiles

Hiding the fact that we were some wild child’s

Good at heart

But wanted to be grown after dark

I often think of those times with a smile

Wishing I could go back in time for just a little while

Life was so carefree back then

Our only worry was getting before it got too late so we wouldn’t get a whippin

I can still see of all of us sitting on the stairs

Eating Cynthia and Jean’s rice crispies with no worries or cares

1425 Montezuma Street brought us all together

And bonded us as sisters forever <3
