we only end up beaten
when we beat around the bush
when pulled by curiosity
why do we tend to push ?
.
we use equivocation
and then quiver at the thought
that when we ask no questions
there's no answers to be caught
.
it's like we throw out lariats
that fail to hit the mark
how can there be enlightenment
when hiding in the dark
.
the shortest route between two points
is not a line that curves
but yet we run in circles
full of quite eccentric swerves
.
we need to sit down face to face
connecting eye to eye
for once you peer into those depths
you cannot mask a lie
.
i am not here to make you wince
i am not here to teach
for there are times, i know
that i should practice what i preach
