The year is 1889, London has spent the last year being plagued by a living nightmare, the devil’s advocate and butcher of young women, Jack the Ripper. Saucy Jack however disappeared without a trace leaving people wondering why Whitechapel's most prolific serial killer suddenly stopped killing and disappeared. Scattered survivors of a terrible affliction that has swept across London in a matter of weeks, decimating its populous believe that Jack was simply a harbinger of a greater evil to come. An evil which has descended in the form of a terrible plague that has ravaged the living, killing the infected in a matter of hours, but those who were bitten however are not staying dead. The dead are rising and devouring the living, forcing those who remain to learn once again what true evil is. Vincent Blackthrone, a man of conviction and morality, was a teacher of human history before the mass surge but his education of human history will not help him survive humnaities final chapter and keep what remains of his family alive. Vincent must struggle through the filth trying to find a balance between right and wrong, good and evil, light and darkness and learn what means justify the ends of keeping his children safe. Unable to trust the last remnants of humanity Vincent is truly alone in the world ravaged by plague, lost in a city of the dead that even before the affliction was haunted by the damned. Vincent has had to quickly learn that it isn’t the dead he need worry about, who are now driven by basic bestial urges, it is the living driven by desperation; hunger and insanity to terrible ends in their bid for survival. Vincent, born to a modest life of privilege will have to crawl through the darkness and fight the evil that has always and will continue to infect the hearts and minds of men and monsters alike.
