A poem I finally was able to write after an unexpected passing of a close friend.

When you decided to go, I was absolutely suprised. There was an immediate sting in my eyes.

We needed to talk, this could not be true. I had so much to say, so much to ask you.

Rumors were traded and blame thrown around. Louder and louder whispers from this fishbowl town.

The more I heard the less I wanted to believe, then truth came out and we all needed to grieve.

You were simply too much for this earth, for this time, for this place. You were wise, you were honest, with an angel face.

Always rooting for the underdog and helping humans with their flaws. A truth seeker with a poet's soul, he could enter anyone's life with a starring role. With a warm smile and hug that could calm the most troubled of souls, even if just for a moment. He came to all with an open heart, now not even light years could keep us apart.

The day came and past and we are all still grieving. I think about you every day even though you are far away. I know that you will never leave because in my dreams you live and breathe. I will hold onto the advice you gave me years ago and I will never forget when you came to my first show.

You left a light in every person that you met. Even though you are gone you have not left us yet. I know you are at peace and your spirit lives on,

I wrote this for you because I miss you Vaughn.
