 Descent

I woke one morning

When the day seemed alluring

I heard the bustling of bees

And the wind in the trees

Dew was spread without

Thus I could not help but shout

The sun shone so bright

And- O nature what a sight

Said I “No more can I take this

Trapped in like a fish.”

No longer can I stand idle

For fresh air to life is vital

Then leapt I out the door

My body abandoning the oaken floor

Then fell I into a land which was heartless

For all was consumed by darkness

Looked I upon a sign

With words that refused to align

The air so chilled me it burned

It blew against wherever I turned

The silence was deafening

Fog rolled in so thick it was sickening

The land seemed so barren and hollow,

The air scented with sorrow.

And alas my feet were stuck

And all through the night something went cluck.

Alas what went wrong?
