What is it, something in the water, much like fluoride,

that blinds some of us from seeing the truth?

From seriously supporting a clown, with a straight face?

Only this additive does far worse than strengthening a tooth,

no, this must cause a sort of collective societal insanity.

How else to describe a mass leave-taking of our senses?

By supporting such a crude man, who spouts hate

and intolerance, who doesn't want to mend fences,

he wants to build them up, until they're a towering wall

that divides us and them, a soul-crushing permanent fear

that will make us eye our neighbor with suspicion,

a return to the cold war, when we all thought the end was near?

If your friend jumps off a cliff, does that mean you have to follow suit?

Cause we are, apparently, we're driving nails into our own coffin,

unless we snap out of the media-driven trance, and get back from the edge.

We're following the Pied Piper of Stupidity, we can't let him win!
