It was a clear heavenly morn.

The air was crisp and the sun adorn.

It was a normal day.

Men and women walked this way and that to work as children went to school and to play.

They were ignorant to what would happen in hours.

Their country would be attacked by enemy powers.

As a hellish fire took innocent lives.

An airlines flight plan was ruined by a dive.

The world stood still in the blink of an eye.

Who would be evil enough to commit such a ply?

Medics and firefighters rushed into hell’s den.

They are willing to give their lives for their fellow countrymen.

Seconds turned to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to eternity.

Women screamed and children cried as injured were rolled out on gurneys.

All seemed lost.

It seemed we were having to pay the cost.

Our hands were stained with the blood of our family and friends.

This was where the world ends.

But lo, watch the eagle soaring!

Remember for every night there is a morning.

Like the phoenix we shall rise from the dust and debris.

We shall not accept defeat and we shall always stand

United.
