Cold is being caused by contagious viruses picked up from someone’s infected sneezes, coughs, sneezes and shake hands with you. Whereas, allergies are being caused by overactive immune system affected by harmless things such as dust or pollen and germs that attacks them.
Cold lasts for 3-14 days, happens usually in winters (possibly at any time) whereas takes a longer period of time that is from days to months, happens any time of the year.
The most important difference is that cold usually don’t last longer than 14 days. Therefore, it is advised to consult your doctor if you still have symptoms after 2 weeks. These may be allergic symptoms or signs of some another problem, that might be serious.

How can you get rid of allergies?
The first and the foremost solution is to drink clean water on regular basis. Restrict yourself by eating only home cooked items and try to avoid sour food items which includes fruits as well. Avoid scented cosmetics, air fresheners, strong sprays, etc. The most important is to keep your home and workplace very clean- dust free.
Doctor’s Advise- People should opt for hypoallergenic mattresses and pillows which are widely available.
