Upon reflection, there's more than meet the eye

Narcissus, as everyone knows, was an infatuated dandy who always ended up inspiring disgust in his countless rejected courtesans. One of them, maybe more resentful than the others, had heard one day something about him that could provide her with a way to take revenge. Consequently, she asked him to meet on the shores of the famous Loch Sell Fish Ness, where he would wait for her in vain because she didn't intend to show up. She had other intentions. In fact, a fortune-teller had told her that if Narcissus saw his own reflection on the water he would fall in love with it and go on staring at himself like an idiot until he died.
And you know what, that's precisely what happened. Narcissus died on the shore of that lake, just like the vengeful bitch expected him to. But it was not out of stupidity. Not at all! When he saw that figure on the surface of the water, he did not fall head over heels for his own reflection because he was too daft to realize it was merely an image. He just thought he had recognized the body of his regretted twin brother, Farcissus, who got lost one summer evening while playing hide and seek. Ironically, thinking about it, it was the first time the poor lad had won the game...
