Days grow short

Nights stay long

Brisk cold air

Vague omen of snow

Lonely heart reclines

In a tiny home

Cold hands warmed

By steaming tee

Merry ruckus outside

Inside a raging pain

Neither pine nor cinnamon

Could soothe at all

Only strong warm arms

Of the beloved woman

Close in heart

Yet far beyond reach
