Agony in the Garden

And departing, he went out, according to his custom, to the Mount of Olives. And his disciples also followed him. {Luke 22:39}

"My soul is sorrowful, even unto death. Remain here and be vigilant." {Mark 14:34}

"Father, if you are willing, take this chalice away from me. Yet truly, let not my will, but yours, be done." {Luke 22:42}

Then an Angel appeared to him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony, he prayed more intensely. {Luke 22:43}

And so his sweat became like drops of blood, running down to the ground. {Luke 22:44}

And when he had risen up from prayer and had gone to his disciples, he found them sleeping out of sorrow. {Luke 22:45}

"Why are you sleeping? Rise up; let us go. Behold, he who will betray me draws near." {Matt 26:46}

Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying: He whom I shall kiss, it is he. Take hold of him, and lead him away cautiously. {Mark 14:44}

"Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?" {Luke 22:48}

"Have you set out to apprehend me, just as if to a robber, with swords and clubs?" {Mark 14:48}

"Daily, I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not take hold of me. But in this way, the scriptures are fulfilled." {Mark 14:49}

Scourging at the Pillar

Therefore, Pilate then took Jesus into custody and scourged him. {John 19:1}

But he himself was wounded because of our iniquities. He was bruised because of our wickedness. {Isaiah 53:5}

The discipline of our peace was upon him. And by his wounds, we are healed. {Isaiah 53:5}

So then, why is your garment red, and why are your vestments like the ones of those who tread the winepress? {Isaiah 63:2}

I have trod the winepress alone. And among the nations, there is no man beside me. {Isaiah 63:3}

I have given my body to those who strike me, and my cheeks to those who plucked them. {Isaiah 50:6}

I have not averted my face from those who rebuked me and who spit on me. {Isaiah 50:6}

And I have been scourged all day long, and I have received my chastisement in the mornings. {Psalm 72:14}

From the sole of the foot, even to the top of the head, there is no soundness within. Wounds and bruises and swelling sores. {Psalm 1:6}

Let us examine him with insult and torture, that we may know his reverence and try his patience. {Wisdom 2:19}

And he was clothed with a vestment sprinkled with blood. And his name is called: THE WORD OF GOD. {Revelation 19:13}

Crowning with Thorns

Then the soldiers led him away to the court of the praetorium. And they called together the entire cohort. {Mark 15:16}

And they clothed him with purple. {Matthew 27:29}

And platting a crown of thorns, they placed it on him. {Matthew 27:29

With a reed in his right hand. {Mark 15:17}

And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews. {Mark 15:18}

And they struck his head with a reed, and they spit on him. {Mark 15:19}

And kneeling down, they reverenced him. {Mark 15:19}

They took the reed and struck his head. {Matthew 27:30}

Then Jesus went out, bearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. {John 19:5}

Behold the man. {John 19:5}

Behold your king. {John 19:14}

Carrying of the Cross

Therefore, when the high priests and the attendants had seen him, they cried out, saying: "Crucify him! Crucify him!" {John 19:6}

"Do you not know that I have authority to crucify you, and I have authority to release you?" {John 19:10}

"You would not have any authority over me, unless it were given to you from above." {John 19:11}

"I am innocent of the blood of this just man. See to it yourselves." {Matthew 27:24}

And carrying his own cross, he went forth to the place which is called Calvary, but in Hebrew it is called the Place of the Skull. {John 19:17}

Now they also led out two other criminals with him, in order to execute them. {Luke 23:32}

And they compelled a certain passerby, Simon the Cyrenian ... to take up his cross. {Mark 15:21}

"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me. Instead, weep over yourselves and over your children." {Luke 23:28}

"For behold, the days will arrive in which they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the breasts that have not nursed.'" {Luke 23:29}

"Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall over us,’ and to the hills, 'Cover us.'" {Luke 23:30}

"For if they do these things with green wood, what will be done with the dry?" {Luke 23:31}

And when they arrived at the place that is called Calvary, they crucified him there, with the robbers, one to the right and the other to the left. {Luke 23:33}

And while crucifying him, they divided his garments, casting lots over them, to see who would take what. {Mark 15:24}

"Father, forgive them. For they know not what they do." {Luke 23:34}

"Woman, behold your son; Behold your mother." {John 19:26-27}

"Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom." {Luke 23:42}

"Amen I say to you, this day you shall be with me in Paradise." {Luke 23:43}

"My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" {Mark 15:34}

"I thirst." And they gave him wine with myrrh to drink. But he did not accept it. {John19:28; Mark 15:23}

"It is consummated. Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." And bowing down his head, he surrendered his spirit. {John 19:30; Luke 23:46}

And the sun was obscured. And the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. {Luke 23:45}

"Truly, this man was the Son of God." {Mark 15:39}
