Every Saturday morning at 5:00am , I get up to the piano playing. With each selected note that brings a sweet melody through the air. She plays the same song everyday, that somehow never gets old. I get off the bed as if the music has a hold over me. I make my way down through the hallway with walls that are covered with only memories of everyone that lived and died. I'd like to think if I touched the walls, I would be able to see a memory that someone else once had.

I reach the arched doors, curved from the last oak tree my great grandfather planted. She is outside, sitting on a grey antique chair that is covers in vines. Calmly pressing her fingers against the keys. 'Ma', the first words of my day. " Do you know, we are very much like plants. If our roots are deep enough and if natured correctly, We can last a long time with happiness within us." She says while still playing her peaceful tune. She stops and glances at me with her deep hazel nut eyes.

I suddenly feel all the butterflies in me die. "Adrienna, you were born for a purpose that cannot be done by anyone but you. To put an end to the world we call home. All that is bad and all that is good. So a new world will grow and begin again." She utters. With tears flooding my eyes, I manage to slip two words past my lips,"I can't." I walk toward her as she holds out her hand. I reach out to her but before I could feel her gentle touch, she disappears. I frantically look around but everything becomes lifeless and turns to ash. In a split second it all becomes dark. Beep, beep, beep. I awake to the sound of my alarm.
