Why must you haunt me with the ghost of your deadly drug?

An element of chemical chaos yearning to be released

Like a foreign territory to be landed upon by a ship lost at sea

As a demon in disguise pulling me under by your disease.

You leave me bitter with the taste of a once disturbed delusion

That I would be better off living in a lie of toxic pleasure

While you would have kept me in your box just like your cigarettes

I shun the thought of injecting the serum without measure.

So I am at the crossroads of a flightless purgatory of the mundane

Slipping in and out of a casual hazardous whim of the past

Pulling the tainted dagger of self-destruction from out of my insides

And stabbing instead the soul-less vampire in the heart at last.
