hither & yon

hither and thither

time flies by

in a crabwise slither

the 1% gorge

on the bones of the rest

because they’re the "entitled"

because they’re "the best"

the days fly by

your nose to the stone

until they're all gone

with hardly a moan

the plight of the vassal

putting food on the table

with nary a "thank you"

and then you're not able

soon they push you aside

with hardly a glance

and all join hands

and return to the dance

so into the pit

my ladies and lords

we all meet the same end

from the ravening hordes

time stalks every move

you’ve no will of your own

enjoy while you can

we all die alone
