This book is based on the short story "Affairs" I wrote a year ago.

In the late Victorian era, there is a story of two men and women, each entirely different people. Nathaniel Dixon has inherited his father's title of "Lord Dixon" with his death, but finds himself trapped with the struggles of responsibility and a marriage he never wanted. Arjun Williams is Nathaniel's childhood friend and butler who has to deal with the prejudice of the time against Indians such as himself. As he becomes closer with his employer's wife, he finds himself dealing with forbidden feelings. Vivianna Dixon is the wife of a man who doesn't love her, but nevertheless she works hard to gain his love. But soon she finds herself wondering if he's really the one for her. Isa is a young woman who finds herself as the new maid in the Dixon household. She immediately comes to hate her new Lord, but then finds herself feeling other things for him as well. Now she must find a way to control her budding feelings and conceal her dark past at the same time.
Jump into the thrilling world of Victorian England and into the complicated lives of Nathaniel, Arjun, Vivianna, and Isa.
