Aggression.

Shown all the time with no mercy.

You jump at me with all your might,

I dodge.

Mistake.

anger surges through your body,

you don't speak, but I know what you are thinking.

"Please don't" I beg.

You don't listen.

You leap towards me with all your might.

You make contact with my left cheek,

I feel no pain.

You've done this many times before,

I guess I'm used to it.

You start to turn away,

I sigh with relief, hoping it's over.

It isn't.

Suddenly you turn.

Eyes on me.

your hunger to make me hurt increasing

,
how dare I! how dare I!

What have I done this time?!

Did I look at you wrong?!

Did I breathe too loud?!

You pounce,

making contact with my right cheek.

Still...

no pain.

"What do I have to do to make you understand!" I scream,

slamming my laptop closed,

"I AM STUDYING!" I screech.

Our eyes meet.

Do you understand? I wonder.

No.

Because you are a ferret.
