Hope.

Finally, a light.

Glowing, beckoning,

Overflowing with promises of

Better things to come.

Shrouded in darkness

She reached out a hand,

Trembling, shaking

The pressure was building.

She stumbled,

Fell.

Scarlet tears, trailed

Down her cheeks.

Desperate wails ricocheted –

The walls were closing in.

A push,

To the finish.

Bathed in light,

She turned her face to the sky.

Never would she have made it

Without

Hope.
