In that fleeting breathe of twilight

Comes the heartbeat laced with love

As hesitation brings bated breath,

Praying, "Oh GOD, dear God above."

But a stubborn veil clouds their thinking

Like two storms upon turbulent seas,

The wind has roots in both their spirits

So they both storm off in a blustery breeze.

‘Tis the way of love and passion's fancy

In those impulsive fits of push and pull,

The emotions rage as storm-clouds build

And both sides think they've played the fool.

But the fool stands in that breathe of twilight

Hearing the heartbeat laced with love

Hesitating with bated breathe

And praying, "Oh GOD, dear God above."
