I can't believe we finally have our own wands!” Rizzo inspected the craftsmen ship of the wand he held, inspected the innate carvings and symbols, wondering what mystery they held in their design. He was often fascinated by such things, even if they did not have any true meaning.

“Oh my god, it's just a fake wand. They sell these at every comic con.” Anji rolled her eyes at how much of a child he could be. They were both in their twenties and had taken their day off to go to the new york comic con. Rizzo always wanted to go and missed his chance the previous years so Anji had volunteered to go with him. A choice she was suddenly regretting at seeing how simple he really was.

“Imagine if we could actually cast spells with these?” He starts pretending hes battling wizards unseen. Anji could not help but laugh at a grown man dressed like clark kent pretending to fight wizards. “Wingardrium levi-”

“Do you really think you can cast spells or are you just that amused by your own imagination?” She didn't know if she wanted him to answer or follow her urge to punch him.

“It's LeviOsa, not LeviosA.” He replied flippantly not giving her a real answer.

“I hate you. Just so you know.” She tried being snarky but couldn't hide the laugh.

“I think I'm about ready to head back to the train. We should grab food before we head home, cause I'm starving.”

“When don't you eat?”

“When I'm sleeping.”

She really hated that he had a reply for everything. He always got the last word and it drove her nuts.

“Fine, I could use a beer and some food too.”

They made their way from the giant glass building tot he streets of new york. The construction crew making it all to obvious they stares they gave Anji as she walked past in her lois lane costume. They had made jokes eralier how they looked as if they belonged on wallstreet, and before Rizzo had undone his tie and opened the shirt to reveal his superman symbol beneath, he could not deny she was right. He tried to block their views though, walking in between the men and Anji. As a guy he hated how typical most men were.

They had stopped for food, laughing about the pictures they had taken that day, speaking of how a few terrible pictures were candid. It wasn't long before they were finally back at Penn station. They found their train and the track but had some time to wait before it showed for them to board. They sat on a bench waiting to pass the time, mentioning a lot of the costumes they had seen. They had grown silent as each of them inspect the things they had bought that day. Anji was inspecting her mystery spiderman box as Rizzo pulled out his wand one more time. He was curious who might look at him weird if he played with his wand as his social anxiety started to get the best of him. He reminded himself he didn't care and took a deep breath before swish the wand around at invisible wizards once again.

“You are having way too much fun.” Anji said, and at the same time pulling out the wand she too had bought.

“Oh yea? Take this!” He pointed the wand at her hand before shouting; “Expelliarmus!”

Suddenly they sat in silent shock as the wand Anji held in her own flew behind her before bouncing off of the wall and rolling down the station floor. Both of them glanced at each other before trying to understand what had just happened.

“Did…..did you just?...”

“I think I just casted a…..spell.” They each glared at Anji's wand as it rolled to a stop. She quickly ran over to grab her wand before she lost and returned to their bench as Rizzo stared in excitement at the wand in his hand. He looked back at her and suddenly scanned the room until he found found a piece of newspaper lying near a pillar.

“Wingardium Leviosa!” He pointed his wand at the paper. In an instant it began floating, rising and lowering as it followed Rizzo's direction with his wand.

“How the hell are you doing this?!” Anji shrieked growing jealous. She had the deathly hallows tattoo on her neck and grew angry in this moment. She glowered at him before turning to the wand she held in her own hand. She saw a napkin near a garbage can someone had missed and tried her own luck.

“Wingardium Leviosa.” She said. Nothing, she grew furious and closed her eyes.

“Look!” Rizzo nudged her. She opened her eyes to see the napkin she was pointing her wand at still, began to float.

“How is this possible?!” she shrieked.

“Do you really need to question it?” Rizzo was happier than a pig in poop and didn't care to ask questions.

“You don't want to know how this is possible? We have only read books about people doing this, how is it possible we are casting spells?”

“Well…..” His curiosity getting the better of him now. “The ministry of magic was destroyed, was it not?”

“Yes. But that was in London. Not America.”

“Well…….Wouldn't the death eaters in nineteen ninety wanted to do the same to every ministry? What if we just never received our letters, we could be mudbloods.” Rizzo rolled his eyes at the term. “Could have skipped a few generations, I was born in ninety, you were born in ninety two. It's the only thing I could think of.”

“We somehow just happened upon real wands?”

“Would you stop that! We are now able to do things people wished they could do, and you want to figure things out. I'm mad at you.” He pretended to ignore her.

“You know I hate when you do that!” She punched him.

Their train pulled in as the lights above the entrance lit up with their departure time. They made their way down to track and onto the train pondering what things they were now suddenly capable of. They were so wrapped up in their discovery they missed the long bearded man in dark, yet colorful, robes that stood at the end of the platform.
