"Love has no culture, boundaries, race, and religion. It is pure and beautiful like the moon's reflection in a quiet lake."

My lover's skin is not like mine

They say that we're like night and day.

My darling's skin is not like mine

But I love him anyway.

My lover's eyes are like an almond's outline

With corners so sharp, like the carvings of a knife.

I think they're enchanting, my honey's eyes

But everyone says, that it's just a lie.

My lover's skin is bright like the moon

But everyone says that I'm just a fool.

Boys like him can't love girls like me

Love comes with privilege, and colors, it loathes to see.

Love is personality, and memories that'll never be grey.

Love is not ethnicity, or a nation built with the same clay.

Why can't they see

Past the colors of our race?

Why can't they see

That love is a grace?
