The Homeless Man Of New York

Wanders amidst life of neon utopia

A dull glow, his noose is conspicuous

For his pace is slow and the slime

Behind, is the only thing of his which shines;

For it leaves residue of intellect and promise

Yet he walks in tune with the blind

The Homeless Man Of New York

Sees but a shining azure, tainted and alive

With dreamless mirrors,

Upturned by steel toothpicks, pricking

Natures feathers and spouting indigenous blood;

Birds of New York flesh flock

And he devours them with chalk

The Homeless Man Of New York

Clenches a wallet of no value

For his family were relinquished

By the poverty of his love

And he was left damned by the city;

For his home was abandoned

And drowned into an apartment

The Homeless Man Of New York

Is in debt to illusions veil

His lungs are soaked in ink

And his liver shrivels with integrity

For the weeps of morning are bitter;

As is the taste of a woman’s lust

Who’s vase is shrewd and shallow

I I

The Homeless Man Of New York

Is a heathen martyr

For his heart beats gold

Yet he is modest in the streets

But recites the dance of a penny;

His shoes shine with native blemish

And his morals are lost in ivory travels

The Homeless Man Of New York

Wears blue in a golden morning

At 8:55, he arrives at the Empire State Building

Where his pursuit for money lyes

On the way, he passes a homeless man, who begs;

Eyes snag with matching colour

-Only for a moment, for he’s a tramp, and there’s no time to waste

For The Homeless Man Of New York
