(Where I sleep, where I wake

Is inside darkness - confined and tight

As is my chest which collpases as a star

 In attempt to burn)

My hands can’t move.

My fingers can’t twitch.

My eyes can’t blink.

My feet can’t kick.

My mouth can’t move.

No matter how hard I try.

No matter how hard I force.

No matter how hard I think.

No matter how hard I breathe.

My breath is weezed.

My breath is challenged.

My breath is tightened.

I heave my lungs.

I heave my soul.

Yet, I am still…

Everything is dark,

Everything is blurred,

Everything is watching,

I lift my eyes and wake

I lift my arms and pull

Off the cover which rests me….

A splinter digs under my nail.

A Sun rises over my chest.

Yet, I am still…

Trying to scream without breath.
