Motor-mouth

The way that you are talking, it’s kind of hard to hear;

you’re talking way to fast for me to listen with my ear.

Your words they keep on rattling out, like a sub-machine gun,

that’s firing automatically and makes me want to run.

If they are making any sense at all it’s clearly lost on me,

these weapons of your words are making me just want to flee.

It’s coming out all garbled, a jumbled, mixed-up sound,

it’s just a load of noise that echoes all around.

Do you know what you are saying, ‘cause I haven’t got a clue?

I’m wondering if these words are making any sense to you.

It’s not that I’m ignoring you; you are just not making sense,

but are staring very hard at me like I am being dense.

Maybe if you take a breath, slow down and take a break

I’ll be able to stay and listen without making my head ache.

Your mouth is like a motor where the gas is stuck full on

and your words, they just won’t slow down, until the whole lot’s gone.

But it’s hard for me to follow unless your floor it with the brake;

take time to explain properly and then some sense you’ll make.

I can’t stand here much longer with this barrage of your words,

so slow it down or shut up so I know just what I’ve heard.
