When the dew plays a clolourful sparkle on the wet grass,

and the lazy morning sun gives you that half-dimpled smile;

When the beautiful electric patterns lighten up the evening streets,

and the tiny 'litchis' lift the veil off the otherwise darker aisles;

When happy faces look even prettier with their curled lips,

and a playful twinkle descends in their eager eyes;

When the air swells up with the aroma of incandescent sticks,

and the defeaning chants thunder the blue skies;

When heads bow down to the victory of good over evil,

and hands rise up, in welcome to the 'Mighty Mother';

When the world, in its best, grooves to the 'Pooja' beats,

and arms open wider than ever to love and embrace each other!
