I wrote this in my writing group the day after the game as a writing prompt, 10 words per line in 5 minutes. Mark Trumbo hit the walk-off homer.

The Baltimore Orioles game went into extra innings, delaying fireworks

So many players left stranded on the bases once again.

The pitchers on both sides came and went, lefty-righty

Until finally the biggest slugger of them all stepped up

In the bottom of the 12th inning, fans standing now

Calling his name to crush the ball to free us.
