storm

the fall had turned to winter

a cold and drab tomorrow

the streetlamp is bright,

the rest of the town is dark.

i reach for a flake of cold and wet

it dissolves, dies right in my hand

i realize i am tired

i sit in the snow as if it were sand

i close my eyes

i guess i sleep
