A cold chill

There was a harsh chill in the air as Elizabeth awoke. The time was 3:37 in the morning. The room was quiet and everything was still but yet something didn’t feel right. She felt a pair of eyes staring at her from the shadows. She called out but there was no response. The shadow began to move ever so slightly. Out of instinct, Elizabeth threw her pillow at the shadow, hoping her eyes were just playing a trick on her. She drew in a deep breath. The room fell silent, she stared intensely at the dark corner. Suddenly a woman with long black hair crawled out of the corner and into her closet. But every time the woman would move, Elizabeth would hear the sounds of bones breaking and cracking. With every movement a chill shot through her. Too afraid to scream, she darted to her bedroom door. Her heart was pounding, she was only  inches away from the door! Elizabeth was jolted back by a twisted bloody hand. She tried to let out a scream for help but not a signal sound escaped from her lips. The bloody girl dragged Elizabeth to her closet. Elizabeth would try to kick and scream but she was completely paralyzed on the outside. The girl was wheezing heavily as she stroked Elizabeth cheek. Her hands were ice cold and pale. She started to mumble something under her coarse broken voice. The girl moved her bloody cold hands to Elizabeth’s neck and started strangling her. Pain shot through her body like a bullet. Elizabeth looked at the girl with horror in her eye’s. The girl had solid black eyes that reflected her terrified face. Sounds of inhuman screams filled Elizabeth’s head, pounding and scratching at her brained. She slowly twisted her neck and everything went black. Elizabeth woke up in a cold sweat. She had been dreaming a terrible nightmare. She laid back down until a cold chill filled the air. The time was 3:37 in the morning and everything was quiet and still.
