Everything is white and gray, and cold,

And in these early hours it is always void of color.

The earth is covered with winter's blanket frost,

Snow drifts span the houses and each other.

Eerie silence congers something close to peace

And it soothes the spirit, and many a fractured soul;

It is brought to you in the early, early, morn

Wrapped in the beauty of a fresh blanket of snow.

Before the dog's out and before the paper's delivered,

Before anything has touched that winter's scene,

A silent calmness reaches out to embrace us

And we stand in wonder, as if we're in a dream.
