On a cold rainy night in New York City, Mark had just gotten off of work after a hard day. He goes home take a nice, scalding shower and sits down to a home cooked meal. After sitting down, he hears what sounds like arguing coming from the alley. Mark goes and peeks out the window to see what's going on. He sees a big muscular guy who looks like a bodybuilder and a tall thin man arguing furiously. The argument takes a turn for the worst as they begin pushing and shoving each other. The big muscular guy shoved the tall thin man so hard that he falls and strikes his head on a rock. Blood was everywhere! At that instant mark darts away from a the window like a bird that has been fluttering around its nest before it takes a distant flight. Mark was shaking like a leaf in the wind.“Did I really just see someone commit a murder?” He thought. As he goes back to the window he sees the burly man closing the lid of the dumpster & the body is gone. He thought about telling Elizabeth, his exquisite wife, but he knew she would say he was insane. After walking away from the window terrified, he threw his dinner away and went to bed.

The next morning, he went to work still thinking about what had happened the night before. On his lunch break, he decided to go to his favorite chinese restaurant called “The Fortune Cookie”. He ordered orange chicken, friend rice, and a fortune cookie with a large Hi-c.

Mark opens his fortune cookie, and it says, “Your life's in danger. Say nothing to anyone. You must leave the city immediately and never return. Repeat: say nothing”. He starts to laugh. “What a joke? Who makes these things?” he said giggling. After eating all his food & leaving a check on the table, he exits the restaurant.

Walking back towards his job, a pole fell down and almost took mark's head off. He was blessed. As he continued to walk, he thought about the message from the fortune cookie. He blanked the thought out of his mind and continued his day. After work, he got in his car and started to head home. As he was driving through yellow light, His car shut off in the middle of the intersection. By this time, the light had turned red. A truck was coming his way driving as fast as a drunk driver. Mark starts to panic trying to start the car back up. Trying to unbuckle his seat belt, he kept looking to see how close the truck was. His seatbelt wasn't unbuckling. The truck was about 4 feet away from the car until his seatbelt finally unbuckled. He climbed over the seat and got out the passenger seat door in time. As soon as he got out the car “ BOOM!” The truck hit his car. Mark considered himself lucky.

“OMG WHAT THE??? How is this happening? Today is not my day!”

Good thing mark was only 3 blocks away from home.

After a thirty minute walk home, mark went to the alleyway next to his apartment. He braced himself. He opened the dumpster very slowly. As the dumpster lid opened he peeked in the dumpster and the body was gone. He thought he was going crazy. He went into his apartment, put some cold water on his face then went back to the alleyway. He looked in the dumpster and he still didn't see a body! A couple minutes later, he thought about the message from the fortune cookie. “ Is someone threatening me? Could all the accidents be because i didn't listen to the note? Is that person after me? What should i do?” mark said to himself.

The next morning, while mark was boarding the shuttle for work, he spots a mysterious tall slinky man with a black hat. Mark realizes he’s been behind him since he left home. Thinking nothing of it he continued his day. On marks lunch break he spots the man behind him again while he was walking into The Fortune Cookie Chinese place.

“I need to speak to Wu NOW!” he demanded to the waiter.

As he waited for lui, he glanced around for the cryptical man that was following him.

“Chef Wu Isn't In Today, Sorry,” The waiter admitted.

Mark was angry. He left the restaurant. He phoned his job and said “I'm not coming back in today.” As he was lying down in bed, he heard the door shut. “Elizabeth is that you? Honey?” He shouted. He jumped out of bed like a toad in a thunderstorm, taking ahold of his bedroom lamp. He slowly walked towards the front of the house. As he was mid hallway, he heard footsteps towards the kitchen. He hurried back to the bedroom, shutting the door behind him. Mark grabbed his cellphone and dialed 9-1-1 as fast as he could.

“9-1-1 what's your emergency?” the operator asked.

“First I got a threatening note because I saw a serious crime happen and now I think the person that planted the note is in my home,” he whispered.

“Sir stay calm and hide. Help is on the way,” She promised.

Mark hung up the phone and put it in his pocket. He heard the footsteps getting closer and closer by the second. He rushed behind his bedroom door like a rocket tearing up the sky but very quietly. “What am I supposed to do? Just wait for the police? What if he comes in the bedroom?” He thought. He was panicking. He didn't know what to do and the police wasn't coming fast enough. The footsteps got closer and closer. As the footsteps got closer mark starts panicking more and more. Mark could tell the person was standing right outside the bedroom door. The person stood there silently. The doorknob started to wiggle. As the mysterious man opened the door and took a step in the bedroom “BOOM!”.
