Dose of Happiness

A massive dose of happiness

Is what I sometimes need

When all those insecurities

On my emotions feed.

Sometimes life, it gets me down,

It ups and throws some rocks,

And if they hit and if they strike

My confidence takes knocks.

It’s then I want to hide away,

To give in to those tears;

But then your words they pop right up

And battle with those fears.

And if there is a critical hit,

A friend that sends a hug

Brings comfort that is instant

Unlike any other drug.

Sometimes thoughts get mangled up

When I am on the brink

But the verse of this that follows

Is what I truly think.

A massive dose of happiness

Is what your words can bring;

I’m pleased I opened up that door

And glad you stepped right in!
