Changing Times

The clocks they are a-changing and it’s messing with my head,

I try to think what’s going on but I am just misled.

The time’s moved an hour forward, or else an hour back,

working out the consequence – a skill I surely lack.

An extra hour just to sleep, or is it one hour less?

I cannot quite get to grips with this light time mess.

An added complication is those seven days

between European and US – it really makes a haze

that muddles me in thinking through though zones of different time

-- this man-made complication, to me it’s just a crime.

I know that in a week or two things will settle down

and calculating differences will not make me frown.

But six months on it’s back again, and sure just to confuse --

to understand clocks altering my brain will just refuse.
