Embrace the Darkness

A faint sweetness of some pale

flower, dying and bound to fall

forgotten, but its muskiness spreads

over me in the valley

like a drifting mist

that comes only in darkness.

I wait to embrace darkness

and the pale

moon to rise above the mist

of the coolness of fall.

the valley remains peaceful and spreads

Through me like a quiver spreads

in the darkness

from cold to hot in my valley

while the pale

light of the moon falls

on me, surrounding me like the mist.

I open my eyes to this mist

and joy spreads

making my breath rise and fall

for he has come quickly like the darkness

retreats from the day as his pale

breath creates a mist in my valley

Between us that I close and trample valley

flowers just to breathe his mist

to feed on the pale

cloud floating about us that spreads

over us and the hillside darkness

forcing all to acknowledge fall.

The glimmering waves of the moon’s light fall

on him, transforming him to my valley

god of darkness

come to sweep me away in the mist

I am enticed by his warmth that spreads

through me like pale

Fire in falling darkness

locked in his strong arms, the valley

is forgotten save his seducing mouth’s fall.
