Never Learn

Hey, isn’t it unusual to find that I’m to blame,

When life is very far from being any kind of game.

It seems I cannot take it in, that I’ll never learn,

To just keep my mouth shut and not speak out of turn.

For when it gets to madness I know just what I’ll hear

You’re the one who started it’, it’s really very clear

By these words of condemnation and all those looks of hate

This hostility will eat me up and then will seal my fate.

It doesn’t matter any more, this sense of so much pain,

For when it fades I’ll know that it will just come back again.

You say that I have failed you, that I have done you wrong --

Perhaps I should just disappear, see how you get along.

You’ll have to look to someone else to lay on all the blame

As I won’t be there any more – now isn’t that a shame!
