Foul day, so hot, so angry, so dark,

The adulterer of Heaven and Hell:

The thunder will scream your rise,

For you can kill.

Foul rose, whose colour, pure and cold,

Forces patient admirer weep his loss:

Your root is in their grave,

And you can kill.

Foul spring, choked with foul days and roses,

A Pandora's box of angry horrors:

My words shows you have your end,

For you can kill.

Only a quiet and patient mind,

Like aged wine, grows only sweeter;

But though the whole world burns to ash,

Lives on.
