External pressures

birth

Internal stresses.

What to do?

Whose voice do you follow?

Once again

The Lord said thru the Word (thru Paul),

“Stand fast, therefore

in the liberty by which Christ

has made (you) free,

and do NOT (emphasis mine)

be entangled again with a yoke

of bondage.”

It’s a tough battle to be sure,

Requiring great bravery and courage.

Thank God we have help thru

The Holy Spirit.

Who “sees those bars that restrain our wings

and pries them open,” (thanks Rumi)

Who picks us up when we stumble

Sets us on our feet and

Renews our energy, faith, & commitment.

He knows all the details

Of what we need and yes, desire.

As the Psalmist said (81:10),

“I am the Lord your God,

Who brought you out of the land of Egypt (captivity)

Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.”

NOW I know what Rumi meant

When he wrote about “that kind of grace from God

That when it hits

You won’t get off the floor for days.”

He is an awesome God, yes He is.

And it ‘s true, Rumi,

“That we should forget about knowing the Friend unless

We are willing to kiss the world with great abandon.”

A soul laid in chains of iron

withstands the pressure

and is
