Sewing my way through the night

Trying to find a way out of this plight

Hate to admit it, but tailoring is my life

I’m attached to it, as a flutist to his fife

Day in and day out, I sew the same outfit

My sewing machine knows the same bit

Thought to myself, it was time for a change

To try something new, wouldn’t that be strange?!

A new outfit at last, yes! A thought out of nowhere

The thought kept rambling, over and over and over…

Who’d’ve thought a notion could change stages?!

For someone like me who hasn’t felt alive in ages

All I needed was a thought to keep me jolly

An ‘outfit’ saved me from my very own folly
