Shooting Star

Come and sit beside me here

As darkness brings the night,

Just spend a while beside me --

You know that this is right.

And there off in the distance,

Not really very far

High up in that velvet sky

There is a shooting star.

It’s starting to get closer

It’s moving across the sky

And the magic of the moment

It really makes me sigh.

I reach out and hold your hand,

An entwining of our fingers

And just for a few minutes

That feeling, it still lingers.

There’s no-one now beside me,

You’ve disappeared back home,

I’m sitting in the darkness

And I am all alone.

But I can still feel you beside me,

I can always feel you there

And I’m glad that magic moment

Had been ours to share.

Whenever you are feeling down

Or just want someone to care,

You’ll only have to call me and

In mind I’ll be right there.
