The water-drop touches the glass

And transforms to a half-dome affair,

Of distortion and reflection of light,

With color dispersed everywhere.

Then the rain dances on temporary pools

Bathed in moonlight, streetlights, and shadow.

The sounds are such in the midst of the night,

A rhythmic flowing to lead a soul mellow.

Looking through the glass, to the street beyond,

I see the headlights in reflective array.

The sounds of the tires on the slick, wet, street

Are the best of reasons that I stayed in today.

But my soul's had enough of the fireplace air

And my body needed Solace not found inside,

So I ventured out to a seat on the porch

In my PJ's, with blanket, and the dog at my side.
