Play By My Rules

It’s a competition and I’m gonna win,

I’ll let fly with words that I just want to say;

It’s certain to get nasty, a really dirty fight,

For I know exactly how to play.

I’ll make sure it becomes really personal,

You’ll end up not recognising you;

Better that you just give in to me

And concede to my point of view.

There’s so many groups that I can target,

That are fair game for a lash of my tongue,

And when there’s some reaction of outrage

I’ll know that my words they have stung.

For all this confident posing and strutting

I never did believe that I would win;

So now there’s to be no more of the acting

As the real stuff will finally begin.

But why are there so many riots?

This hate should have been shown the door.

I’m the one that’s been chosen to be here,

I’m the president they all should adore.

These people should stop their complaining,

They owe me their subservience,

The media must treat me with proper respect

And follow MY rules – it makes sense!

Okay, I admit I played pretty dirty to win this

But I won, now you all owe me support

Don’t keep picking apart my imagined faults

Or your bullying I’ll just have to report.
