This poem was based on a real life event in my life. My grandma passed away, and I truly regretted the way I acted towards her in the last years of her life. Before she had Asperger, she used to really care for me, but over the years, as I grew older, I forgot all she had done for me. It wasn't until at her funeral that reality set in. I hope you guys can relate to it as well. Enjoy!

In Memory To My Grandma

It’s been 4 years...

Pain ripped my 9-year old heart

that foggy January day,

I tried to hold back tears,

I needed to be a lion,

but I didn’t know what to say.

You used to hold me,

pat me on the head.

“Too soon!”, I cried,

yet nothing I could do.

Your face was like plaster,

so stiff as you died.

It’s been 4 years…

I still do cry but

I can’t forget time like the way

you forgot my name.

You left a scar

when you left that day.
