So here we are, after months of hate
All targeting election night, in which we all stayed up late
That night confirming, once again, we are truly a divided land
Some states red, others blue, separated by lines in the sand.

So here we are, after months of hate

All targeting election night, in which we all stayed up late

That night confirming, once again, we are truly a divided land

Some states red, others blue, separated by lines in the sand.

The former is elated about how to force their agenda through

But what does it really mean if half of our brothers are blue?

At best they may find short-term success, with certain policies only benefiting the right

Meanwhile the hate grows, fueling that ugly, divisive and unproductive fight.

Instead let's try and change the direction of this one way street

Where we talk to all of our brothers and sisters and listen to their heart beat.

The Lord made us all differently but he connected our hearts and souls with common ground

Let's respect and listen to one another so we can hear that sound.

With more of us on the same page our policies will result in long-term success across our great land

Slowly washing away those red vs blue lines in the sand.
