Opening Floodgates

They’ve opened up the floodgates, hostility is flowing

and there really is no sign of when it might be going.

You’re looking all around you, examining the throng,

always on the look-out for those that don’t belong.

Someone undesirable, or otherwise they’re lacking --

it’s open season for you now to go in to attacking.

Criticism’s rampant if you’re not on the far right,

to keep your own identity you’ll stay out of their sight.

These people so deluded, thinking they are in the know --

if you don’t play along with them you might be forced to go.

They’ll tighten up their borders put restrictions on their trade,

they won’t be reasoned out of the decisions they have made.

There are reflections found in history, not so long in the past --

let’s hope it won’t come true or else humanity won’t last.
