The fools do wander into daylight

From the lime-light’s mellow shadows

While the silent wise, without disguise,

Could have saved the world from its woes.

But much is said about the words of fools

And volumes are written about all they say,

But the just are discounted and cast aside.

Ah, they stoned the prophets. Didn't they?

Who wanders past the monuments?

Who does not stop, look, and wonder,

"If what we choose is just a ruse,

Will the next one take US under?"

So down the road we blindly wander

While picking our kings by emotional fray,

And behind the scenes are the puppeteers

Who have stoned the prophets in every way.
