It was a bright sunny day, With us together happy aand gay, We started our day, with the usual cheer, Cause we never knew that trouble was so near. I locked the door, And we set off for the shore. She got in first, And pulled me next, Into the car, and I'll never forget.

She made me smile, she made me laugh, My love and affection was all she bought, She turned the key and our journey began, Everything was going better than we had planned. We laughed and we giggled, Reaching the spot was in itself a riddle, And at last we reached, The shore that had us pleased.

It was quite close to sunset, The birds were going back to their nest. It was indeed a beautiful scene, The air too, smelled good to breathe. Hand in hand on the soft-fine sand, We walked and talked on the cold river bank. The waves came up, and they went down, We laughed at the sea as if it were a clown.

Drowned in the sea was the magnificent sun, Declared the moon, "the stars have won", Alas! There came up a wave so high, That devoured the stars and the enormous sky. We sat there fascinated by its overwhelming height, Which seemed unusual on such a peaceful night.

The wave came towards us and before we could flee, It fell on us and there was nothing left to see. Nothing at all. Neither the stars, nor the sky, My whole universe had left without a good bye.
