Snow? No!

There’s frost on the car, especially the screen,

there’s ice on the bench, the most that I’ve seen

so far this year. I guess the message is clear,

winter’s arrived for the rest of the year.

Monday was so mild, more like September,

Thursday the rain came to make me remember

just what our weather is normally like

and why I’m so glad that I don’t ride a bike.

So down to the main road we drive in the glare,

it’s making me think of a solar flare;

there are mountains before us and wouldn’t you know,

the tops they are white ‘cause they’re covered in snow.

We live in an area where the hills they are steep,

with treacherous bends where I’ll struggle to keep

the car on the road when the weather is nice --

I don’t want to deal with a patch of black ice.

Most of our winters they tend to be mild,

although sometimes the conditions can get pretty wild;

just once in a while the snow it will fall

and then we’ll be cut off, away from it all.

If that snow, it is heavy and does get too deep,

I’ll just want to hibernate, just want to sleep.

If it freezes too hard no water we’ll get,

it will be stuck in the well until a thaw does set.

So although this white stuff can look really great

in my reality it is just something to hate.
